Fishing out of OCMD this year and it will be my first year targeting tuna so I have 2 noob questions...

1. when chunking and letting out the line in free spool and the clicker starts going off pretty good, do you set the drag on strike right away and slowly turn the drag up more, or do you let them run a bit in free spool?

2. when trolling and you get a bite, do you need to drop back in freespool like you would for a billfish or do you set the drag to strike and slowly increase?

read and watched tons of videos and nothing is really showing me the actually hook up. I plan on going with some friends to show me the ropes but I’d like an idea of what to do.

I don't drop back at all when trolling and a tuna its the jig. And when chunking I always use a circle hook so I don't set the hook: Let the fish take it and slowly move the lever towards strike. Odds are the fish is hooked in the corner of the jaw.
