Body language didn't seem very tweakerish to me, not like that means anything. Also would be dumb as shit to be out prospecting to steal stuff with logos on the side of your car buuuuut....no one ever said thieves are smart. Too bad the resolution on the cam wasn't a little better, had it full screen on the 22" monitor and sitll can't make out the logo on the shirt nor the car (just see the word 'state' on the van, looks like an 800 number but can't quite make out the numbers accurately)

    Screen Shot 2018-06-14 at 10.08.23 AM.png

Someone mentioned roofing and the logo does look similar to the Tristate Roofing logo, and reviews on Yelp mention they go door to door "The two sales reps going door to door got rude and racists when told no thank you. Lied to the cops when they came after yelling white hating crap all the way down my street. I have made a call to the head office waiting to hear back we are pulling video from our camera and talking to our attorney next week. "

Standard door to door salesman handing out a brochure. Nothing to see here.

Ordinarily I would not be suspect.......but if you do more research and look close, he gets out and points at both boats and says "Two Boats". You could see both kickers from the road, so walking up to each boat would be fairly obvious. Plus we have a "door-bell" camera...he never rang the door-bell or knocked on the door as far as we can tell. I think he noticed the camera while walking up.

I'm thinking this is just a "scout team". He did not leave a business card/brochure...nothing. What's the point of going door to door if you don't advertise your product? Would seem like a waste of time (and their companies money) to me. Especially since most of the door/door advertisers make commission off any follow up sales. One could buy those magnetic door signs for a couple hundie.....

Just does not add up....I hope I am being paranoid.........be safe all

Or they work for that roofing company and scout shit to steal at the same time..... covering thousands of miles on the bosses dime, scout out the next theft and make side money, because they probably don’t make shit.... Lots of guys in the trades steal shit! They are in the neighborhoods all the time doing work for the boss and see something that would be easy to steal.... viola!

I’m with Swanny, it’s a little fishy (hahaha)..... Totally saw the camera and left.... if ever questioned they have the perfect cover... selling roofs!

When the "Spidey Senses" start talking, it is always good to listen.

Remember: "If it smells like a stinky cheese thief, it probably is". (From the best seller, "Who Stole My Effing Cheese?")

I can hear the guy knock in the video. Then you see him stand there like a normal guy would, waiting for someone to open the door. If he was interested in your motor he would have glanced over a few times or something to check out the bolt/lock situation.....

Sure seems like a salemans to me and nothing more.

Sorry for your loss Eric, I'm glad they didn't get the important stuff. I'm 63 years young, believe me I'm not naïve enough to think it can't happen to me. I've seen enough bad shit for a lifetime. That being said I feel good about my neighborhood and neighbors who watch out for each other. It sucks that there are people out there that do that shit but I'm not going to live my life worrying about it.
Once again sorry for your loss.

Thanks for your thoughts pete, I agree with you it's not worth living your life in fear of this kind of thing, my point is it's everywhere.
I wouldn't live anywhere else and have good niegbors as well doesn't matter the fuckers will slip in anyway, got to keep shit locked up and family safe when you can it's not paranoid it just is what it is.
With a house full of animals and barns full of kids it getts spred out it was only a matter of time. God help the tweeker scum if I catch them in my shit again!

Op, murdering someone over a kicker motor seems like the logical choice. Screw insurance and the cops.

What kind of a moron are you?!? Murder?!? How about the OP protecting his livelihood and what he works so hard for. fearing...

What actual good do you think the cops would do at this point? the cops won’t do shit Now or even after it’s stolen, it’s likely a paperwork over the phone. With your logic we should just unlock our doors and let thieves have their way and make lots of insurance claims. Reward thieves, make an advertisement and post your address on line...

If more thieves got lead poisoning for stealing, the world would be a better place! They steal from hundreds of people and rarely get caught and when they do get caught they may not even do any time...Fuck those thieves and yes they deserve to die!
