I've spent the evening sending this to every PSA chapter, members of my chapter, family, and people I know. This is about FISHERMEN and coming together for a common cause, not a pissing match over who likes or dislikes one organization or another so please don't turn it into that. Thanks

    The Campaign to Grow Sportfishing,

Did you know that sportfishers are the largest single source of WDFW funding?
WDFW’s priorities should reflect this reality.

    Sign the Petition

    Dear Friend,

As someone who enjoys recreational fishing here in Washington we wanted to alert you to an important proposed change that will affect you.

Did you know that Governor Jay Inslee and the Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) have proposed additional increases to recreational fishing license fees in order to fund operations at WDFW?

These proposals are being considered by the legislature right now and could raise license fees by nearly 25%!

While we all support funding our fisheries, we need your help to send our legislators a strong message that it’s time for WDFW to focus on OUR priorities and grow sportfishing in Washington state, rather than simply raising license fees again. Will you take a minute to sign the petition?

Over 800,000 Washingtonians like you purchase a license to recreationally fish each year.

And those licenses we buy as sportfishers make us the single largest revenue source for WDFW. In fact, recreational anglers generate 35 times more revenue for WDFW than commercial fisheries It is time to make our voice heard.

As advocates for Washington’s sportfishing community we strongly believe that any increase in fees MUST be accompanied by policy reforms that grow and prioritize the superior benefits of recreational fishing in fish management decisions.

Will you join us? Will you take a moment to sign this petition telling your legislators to include policies that grow recreational fishing?

Our campaign to change management priorities of the most iconic fish species in Washington, like salmon, is just beginning. Join us and sign the petition to the legislature.

    Sincerely,

    Campaign to Grow Sportfishing
