I recently acquired an accurate bx2 600. The reel is spelled up with 80b spectra with enough room for a 25-50yd wind on. I am looking for a rod to match it up with and am wondering what you guys think best fits the bill.

This set up will mainly be my heavy bait set up (50-60lb) in case we run into bigger tuna as we have recently. I mostly fish 1-3 day trips and don't plan on going long range any time soon. I will probably also use this set up as a dropper loop for yellowtail.

Also i have always fished calstar and seeker so id like to stick with one of the two.

Thanks in advance for the advice.

Considering you aren't fishing long range I think the best in the Calstar line up would be the 7400xh or h at 7' or 875xh at 7.5' I can't honestly give you any insight on the shorter sticks because 7' is the shortest I own.

Call a couple shops and go pull on some. Verify they have the good stuff in stock before you go. Island Tackle in Carson has a good selection.
