Help identify blank

    9756B63D-77B7-44F6-ABA4-007E344C6C00.jpeg Wanted to see based on the picture what possible blank it could be. Its a 9ft rod. Will remove cork once picked up to see if there are any markings. Thanks

    I have a few Conolons that are that color.
    But I'm no expert.

    Probably a 90J or 690J. Could be a Sabre or Calstar, they are the most common of the older jig rods that you run into. The Calstars are usually a slightly darker shade of honey than the Sabres. From the photo the color looks more Calstar but sometimes people coated the blank with varnish or finish and it darkens over time. Look closely at the blank and see if there are faint lines in the blank that go around barber pole style about 1/8" apart. They are usually easy to see on the Sabres but not on the Calstars. You might see the remains of a label when you take the tape off. The Sabres usually had a red label and the Calstars had a green label but often times it was removed or it comes apart when you take the tape off.

    Looks like a calstar, 90j,690,530 or maybe something cut. Might find the label under the cork

    Thank you for the info, will check once i pick up rod and peel off the cork. Hopefully something good.

    Rod is a Calstar 690J. Brother peeled bacl tje cork and saw the label T690J
