I apologize for the length but there is some pretty good footage from this last trip.

6 boats were on the kelp patty where this bite started. All of them left, but for some reason we were able to hold the school.

Fish had empty guts and were very aggressive, but I think our ability to change tactics to adapt to the school enabled us to hold them. Or then again, maybe it was blind luck.

A really good gaff fail too by yours truly........

Great work skipper!! Nice vid and awesome gaff save!! Had this same deal off carlsbad, held a school of footbal yft, mush mouth mix for about 2.5-3hrs. Fish were real aggressive and hit anything that touched the water!! Tight Lines!!

Nice Video, class operation. Clean safe, clear deck. Appears you found your own fish. Although, initially you said there were others on the paddy. No radio BS. No yelling or cussing at other boats. No stop watch timing (obvious bragging) of owner/crew/passenger fish. No names boldly written boldly upon ice chests and displayed in view of the camera. No one beating on their bloated middle aged bellies. None of that was necessary.

Appears you've been there many times before, caught em, maybe even lost a couple, and it shows. Enjoyed it. Nice job.

On long drifts the bait really stacks under the boat. Start your boat every half hour or so and idle for a minute or 2 it scares the bait out from under you. Don't put it in gear just start it. Trust me it works
