Hey, I’m out of town and while on the road I had an interesting experience. My good buddy Monte from M&M received a call from San Diego Tackle Traders who said a suspicious set of characters were trying to sell some rods that were wrapped by Monte and wondered if he knew the owner. Turns out these clowns stole my 16 CalStars and Avets out of my storage locker and were trying to sell them.

Monte recognized the rods right away and called me on my cell 4 hours up the 395. The cool dudes at SDTT sent some quick photos and I ID’d them immediately as my rods. They then took some pics of the theives and their license plates and told them to sit tight the police were on the way because the rods were stolen. The two idiots then split and all my rods were left in the possession of SDTT.

I then hooked up with the storage place and they immediately ID’d the idiots because they had just rented space the night before. They have their IDs, etc. and some security video that will be interesting to search. I’m a lawyer and we have every intention of pressing charges. Now these fools are facing grand theft.

What they apparently did was make keys and pick the lock. One of them must have been trained as a locksmith. My lock is still there and there’s is no sign of forced entry.

I am posting pictures of these guys in case any of you know them. Also including some pictures of my rods because until I get back to SD I can’t be sure there aren’t more on the street. All my rods look the same and they have a chrome custom “Ehukai” label on them and often my name Larry Shea. With the exception of the trollers all of them have black wraps with silver swirl Monte is known for. If you see them please contact me.

Douche Bags made a big mistake. Joubert is after them now.

I am glad you are getting your equipment back but don't be too sure the scumbags will do any jail time. This state is broke, jails and prisons are full and the people who vote decided they would decriminalize theft crimes. Law enforcement is under manned and doesn't seem much interested in solving property crimes. Had my rental car broken into twice in Bay Area like many others and law enforcement didn't seem much intersect in trying to catch these theft gangs. The real question should be how did they know what storage unit your equipment was stored, inside job? Sorry don't mean to be negative but I seen seen and heard of too many stories with nothing being done when they catch these criminals. Good luck.

100% accurate info right here. They’ll take their dog and pony show on the road and do it again somewhere.
