    Hi Guys;
    I've got an opportunity coming up the first part of February,
    where I will be headed out of probably Fort Lauderdale area
    on my friends 42' power cat. Headed to the lower Exumas.

    Can anyone offer any advice on the fishing opportunities along the way?
    This would be my first time fishing out east. As I have my vessel in Puerto Vallarta,
    wondering what to bring for equipment and what kind of fishing could be had along the way,
    and once we get to the Exumas.

    Anybody been there? Thanks in advance for any advice! Happy New Year!

    Watch out for pirates. There is good fishing over there for sure. Heard a lot about the wahoo being good.

    Fish the tongue at chub cay on an east wind or falling tide for a Wahoo bite. Look for birds in between the tongue and southwest of Nassau.
    The Wahoo bite is going to be your best bite over there now. Either high speed or drag rigged ballyhoo on a trolling weight. Less pressure on the fish the further south you get. Once in Exuma, enjoy all the touristy places like thunderball grotto, and the swimming pigs.

    Thanks Mike for the details, I will pm you later.
    Do you have a tackle store in Ft Lauderdale that you would recommend for last minute items?

    fish the Isaacs/ledge area on the way over or back.Also watch radar for birds as tuna are starting to show up a little.
    Overnite @ Chubb as Mike said and fish the pocket on a S or SE wind. Trolling some Dolphin & marlin stuff , weight one , and get a Wahoo bait on a lead..high speed is not essential, try to hit the bridge @ the bottom of Eleuthera if it works out.
    no misses in Staniel area : Thunderball Grotto/ swim with the nurse sharks/ swimming pigs
