No prefix for boat maintenance. Dropped the truck off (Monday 4am ish), Nerlie took me down to the slip, met slip neighbor Greg and pushed off. Goal for the quick morning run; be at the Phoenician ramp at 7:45 to haul the Kai'Nana. No real issues other than bottom paint and most importantly replace the transducer so I can catch some frickin' bait and also run the ledge more appropriately.

The run from Waianae to Campbell offers up an option or 2; you got it, troll the ledge and why not. Right out in front of Kahe picked up this little gem; hardly took any line at first, while I was clearing one of the other lines Greg mentions; "this fish just took off" so now thinking maybe one of those ledge ahis cause it is dumpin' some line (reminder: 50's spooled with 80).

Look at my watch and realize that now maybe we might be late if this is a critter. What a great reason to be late... anyway we get the fish (obviously not an ahi), give the yard a call, head in and we are in the cradle right at 7:45. All around good morning.

Check the scissor lipped bastard out... he's pissin' on my leg. Put everything from the boat into the back of the truck, weighed him last night on my spring scale, bottomed out the 50#'r; we'll say he's 50 plus.

The Kai'Nana is already wantin' to get back in the water; "settle down girl only a few more days"...

    Cheers
    Pat

Pat, nice fish! Good way to start the morning, catching a big ono before going in for maintenance. Good eats too!

That's a big boy, more than enough fish to last til you get the boat back in the water. The Kai Nana should be top shape for the yellow guys, reading all the posts got the fever, can't wait till the weekend.

Too bad about having to do dry dock. That's not fun at all. Way to fire on the big ono though. That thing is a monster.

Wow, Pat, that's one big ono. Buggah got girth like a log! This year is looking pretty good so far and with the Kai Nana in top shape you'll be right there in the thick of things. Good going on your catch.
