Short and sweet report with some pictures for those interested.

<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com[IMG]Took advantage of the nice weather and made the run to Guadalupe on the 35' Cabo Express "Scotty D" in hopes of catching the larger grade yellowfin tuna and yellowtail. Ran to Ensenada for paperwork and clearance and was please that it took only 4 hours. Was able to score the last bait in Ensenada on the way out and so we had some nice small sardines that went the distance no issues.

30 hours travel time down 188nm. Last 100nm the dodos were thick on the marlin lures. It got to the point that I left the boat in gear. All you wanted on cookie cutter 15lbs dodos.

Arrived at the north end of the island and worked our way south to Tuna Alley. Changed out the lures to feathers, a cedar plug, a dorado marauder in total a 5 line spread. We get down to tuna alley and all the poles go bendo and its wide open on 50lb yellowfins.

Ended the day with smiles on everyone's faces in the typical " border="0" alt="" />

Since it was between seasons down there, no locals, no mex navy, and only 1 other boat (out of Newport Beach), we enjoyed the peace and craziness that only Lupe brings.

Days 2 & 3 were filled with helium balloons and throwing the iron. Solid effort by the guys and we finished day 3 with the boat plugged.

I carried a scale on this trip to make sure we got accurate weights.

Plenty of Yellowtail to 42lbs. Range of fish was 34-42 lbs.

Plenty of Yellowfin tuna to 77lbs.
The balloon bait of choice was the larger grade spanish macks.
Larger grade of yellowfins came from balloons. Bait fish averaged 40lbs. Troll fish averaged 52lbs, larger models eating the marauder.

No issues with sharks. Seals were thick but never took any of our fish since we "distracted" them with plenty of scad macks.

Water temp at island 73.2 to 74.0.

Water temps open water over to island 68.0 to 74.7.

    Water temp Ensenada Bay 78.0.

Seemed like time of day played heavy into tuna eating pattern with later afternoon favorite time to eat.

28 hours travel time back to Ensenada. 5 hours to clear/check out with new sanitation department stamp on paperwork. Then back to San Diego to unload.

    Fuel burn 360 gallons.

500 lbs of filets on freezer plates.

Ejoy the pics.sorry some are sideways... I will add more pics when the second camera comes back online.
