cap don called me up on friday night and asked if i wanted to go rumble on saturday,my imediate response yes sir lol.i been fishing with cap for about 10 years.i didn't go fishing for 5 months, talk about loosing my touch lol.so here's the report,we left heeia kea pier at about 5:30 started motoring out 16 to 18 knots,we found our first pile of otaru's at 35 miles, cap don slowly walked the kimi ann into the pile.before you know it bingo, the outrigger went then the other, the center then the corners,(5 banger).we boarded all 5 and set up again,we stayed with the pile for a while and ended up with 500lbs of those big footballs lol.we kept trveling out to 40 miles and found a pile of aku and shibi,we jerked those guys till it was dark ended up with 200 lbs.this is the first time riding caps new kami craft and boy it is a machine,i fished with him on his yellowfin all before this and it was fun.total catch for the day 700 lbs of otaru, shibi and aku's.can't wait to rumble with cap again.p.s. keep the lines tight, may your reels keep screeming and your boxes be full! aloha!
