Took the Pride out of Seaforth Sunday evening and had such a good time I took a re-ride on Tuesday. I debated if I should post this because the trip was so great both times, I almost dont want the word to get out about it so the number of angelers stay low, but Greg was such a cool captain he totally deserves the props and the business. I highly recommend this trip. Started out both times and loaded up on squid, which was fun in itself then headed out to the spot. Lots of sharks and rays were coming over the rail on the rental rods and rigs but no wsb. I was using a small white glow tady. 2am I freshened up my bait and put a big charge on the glow side of my jig and dropped it down. Within a minute the clicker went off and I was on. My first bite of the evening. I moved up the rail to the bow going under the other rods and surprisingly had the fish to the surface by the time I got there. It only took 1 minor run and basically rolled over and quit. I have had largemouth take longer to land! Can't complain tho, (I was fishing with a 25lb flouro topshot) quick gaff by Scott and my first ghost came over the rail. No official weight but Scott/Greg say near 50lbs. Personally I think it was a bit under. Only WSB on the boat for that night but my 3 year quest had ended, and yes I know the adrenaline is clearly visible on my face in the pic below...lol Grilled it up on the 4th(delicious) and still had the adrenelin pumping so went back Tuesday night with my buddy. Fishing was slow Tuesday but we did see a HOG come over the rail, much bigger than the one I got. My buddy farmed a big fish we never saw, and a small thresher we got on a balloon, but other than a few sandies that was it. My rod got bent seriously right before we left but it came up squidless, that was my only shot on Tue but it doesnt matter. I am still riding the high from my first ghost in the darkness. Thanks to Pride and Greg. I will see you again soon!
