day 1
got a ride to lax and made it through the lines in no time
and about the tread i did about flying with weights and stuff, i ended up stuffing my rod tube
and other check in bag to the gills with tackle so i would not have to worry about anything
get into baja and find out 2 of the passengers got there stuff lost by the airport
so they were not too happy with that, but we made due and shared aot of gear
then to find out our limited load got turned into an ultra limited load cause some people missed there flight
so we ended up with only 6 people fishing
so we took a ride and got to the boat and everything loaded up and off we went to go make bait
day 2
we started fishing the potato bank and did some good work on some yft anywhere from 10 to 35 lbs
and 1 nice 30 plus lb tan grouper
we ended up with a bite more than 100 fishing for the day so that was alot of fun
we caught them on the slide, trolling, yo -yo, surface iron, surface poppers, stick baits, live baits, and just about anything you through at them
day 3
we went down to the finger bank to try and find some cows
before lunch we caught 4 stripped marlin any where form 70 - 100 lbs witch was alot of fun
and we got 2 big yft form 160 plus to 200 plus and that was really cool to see for my first time
then we move around throughout the rest of the day trolling for wahoo and looking for more big fish
but it just never really came together for us
we met up with the rooster and traided some big macs for some sardines witch helped us out a bit
day 4
we were heading north in search of big yt and the weather came up quit a bit
a little bit of rain here and there with a decent amount of swell and wind
we found plenty of yt but only the smaller ones throughout the day and hid inside the bay for a bit
day 5
we were at the ridge where there was a ton of ted crab flouting everywhere
and the fishing was not that great, we got some more average sized yft
and got surrounded by skip jack most of the day
but we did get another nice tan grouper around 40 lbs
day 6
got back to the dock and took the ride back to the airport and a ride back home by Jon O
the passengers with the missing gear got it back and they
also hooked everyone up on charging us of all the extra check in baggage
so that was nice

so for my first big fish trip i had a great time, i learned alot about this kind of fishing
and cant wait till the next time i get a chance to do this again
i got to catch my first marlin around 100 lbs, when they are all lit up they are vary beutifull
thanks to the passengers - Jim, Chris, Jeff, Ron, and Dorian
we had a great time hassling each other and force feeding shots to everyone
and thanks to the crew - Jody, Jimbo, Thong, Cruz, and Jon O
they worked really hard to put us on the fish and make our time vary enjoyable

Nice pix. Jodie runs a good boat. I did a 2.5 with him this past summer, and can't wait to fish with them again!

the flight was about 2 to 2 1/2 hours
the taxi was about 2 1/2 to 3 hours
it really just depends on your group and how many times they wanted to stop for beer and a smoke

    Nice! Thanks for sharing!

I fish with Jodie during the summer offshore, great crew! I hear he's planning on doing PV nest year, if that's the case I want in!
