Since Yellowtail is biting, feel like to join in the party.

Mostly do 1.5 dayer and over-nighter, never try full day trip.
Except Seaforth landing, is it possible to get a parking if arrived in mid-night ?

What you guys do if come along with the gears without parking space.

Full day with boats filled up like they have been? Seaforth the San Diego all day long. Not just because of parking. I went out this past Tuesday and Limited within the first hour. Ryan or Matt will put you on the fish. I do overnight trips or 1.5 out of the other landings and can deal with parking. Don't feel like trying at 3am lol.

I'm Curious what your personal experience with uber drivers has been taking gear to (San Diego) landings and transporting it back home with fish

I usually take 8 rods to 8', a roller box and boot bag

On the return, add 10-100lbs of boat-filleted fish in bags, or a couple gilled (bled) whole fish over 75lbs

    PS:

here was a surprise - the boat wouldn't fillet my 75lb bluefin on the boat so I was stuck with this fish (one went to the fish processor for $65 bill) and this one loaded in my CRV (I couldn't get them both in my car w/o a total mess)

but I can imagine the conversation with driver wanting to load this fish in his trunk (or helicopter or cargo van) - not to mention my overall fish smell with the driver or other passengers...

Along with the main parking lots in front of the landings, there is auxiliary parking located along Harbor Drive on both sides of the street. Make sure you park in the appropriately marked spaces. Some parking spaces are approved for longer than others.

Bro! Uber is fucking crazy these days. They even have helicopters. True story.
    Uber/SUV
Uber plus has mini vans. I just uber’d back from lax with 200lbs of fish ( packaged) without a problem!

If go with a friend, all problems become no problem.
The problem is mostly go along.

Love the image of you sticking a whole dead tuna in the trunk of an Uber. I am sure yellow cab will take your business.

thanks good info. I presume you mean local-to-SDlanding
I see Uber XL is an actual service

    uberXL.jpg

I am very interested in this UBER option: how is the return with wet dripping fillet bags (and/or whole gilled/bled fish ((and smelly fisherman)) dealt with

side note: I would expect yellow cab service would flatly refuse based on my extensive 20th century pre-UBER experience (I am a current very light UBER user today and love their service) ...

Have my fish processed so not really a concern. But what you're saying wouldn't work, nobody is going to let a whole fish be thrown in their trunk. Lol. Also you wouldn't have a cooler/ice so would be ruining your fish anyways.

your information (UBER XL) is useful no less

the fresh dead fish (filleted/bagged dripping wet or whole) in trunk is common sense (I'm 20 minutes max from fishermans landing) - why i wondered how anyone was getting a ride home from UBER (despite the gear issue which the local XL service may resolve)

There is free parking a block down harbor Blvd. across the street I've never seen it full it used to be a self pay but they took down the pay station years ago. Sign says 72 hour parking but have used it on 5 day trips with no problem.
I pull into the landing 30 minute parking and unload then drive over to the parking lot on harbor. Do the same in reverse after trip.

Yep, my friend parked his truck over there
While we were on our 8 day for free,
We just paid $ 4.00 to unload and pick up,
Our gear, he just got a paper from the office
    To put on the dash.

If you can get in and out of Fisherman's landing parking lot in under 30 minutes it's free. I can't always get my stuff unloaded that fast.
