With two springers, I can say that mine prefer rabbit and game birds (especially ducks, geese, pheasant, partridge and dove!), and while they chewed some wood rails when young, they do have good taste! Nothing beats a good springer as a family/hunting companion, unless hunting sea ducks off the Maine coast in winter when I rely upon a friend's Chessie!!
