Haha, I get it- as we were really loved by all groups especially on Friday and Saturday night in downtown K Town or Frankfort or outside Osan AB Korea! Alcohol and 200 dudes that plan on hooking up with the same four girls availble tend to get their feelings hurt when told bar is closed and time to go home... Thanks for your service, hope you can participate in a lot of the veterans activities that most of these guys on this site contrbute too and offer up spaces on their boats during the various events. Both Mission Outdoors and Salmon for Soldiers are always in need and appreciate those of us that can and will support these events and more in whatever capacity that may be...

Hahaha, I joined a little later, after college and was already married and had one kid. I missed a lot of the “good ol times” but always heard the stories. Monday is morning is not a good time to be a 1st Sgt or Commander. :-)

Most that have served, and have seen combat, don't go spouting off on public message boards. They are content to save their breath for more important things. They know what is worth defending. They don't have to respond to every post, and would rather be in the shadows helping their brothers. Take a note CC..

    Out of many, one.

Did anyone have one of those aunts with the red lipstick who would kiss you on one cheek before pinching the other one when she saw you? "Look at you! You're getting so big!"

We put up with her because she was family and she always put a five dollar bill in the birthday card she never forgot to send. I wish I would have had the maturity to ask her about her journey to America from Austria as the first world war loomed on the horizon, but I was a punk kid who sadly learned too late in life how precious all the people around us are.

Our experiences differ, often even during the same event. It isn't realistic to say one person's view should mirror that of the person beside them. If only life was that simple...

Sometimes when we look at that flag, we should remember that among other things, it tells us not to forget that we are all family.

    E pluribus unum.
