As my Tuna stock was declining decided to put together a trip. Bloodydecker Neil c purchased a bad ass 6 pack boat a 34 ft Radovich Sportfisher, if you have never fished one of these it is the perfect 6 pack layout, has a huge bridge with a side scanner. The berth has a roomy layout to eat, sleep and relax......super clean boat. If your trying to get a on a six pack for cheap hit him up, hes been fishing our waters since he was a kid and has been running a charter biz for over 15 years..........http://www.fourreelsportfishing.com That being said, I put together 5 guys and we where excited to get on the island tuna. Neil had a charter the day before and killed it on the tuna and dodos about 1.5 miles off the east end of Cat. Loaded up with 4 scoops of primo sardines from Nacho (190 gal tank kept them alive all day) and we where off at about 4am. Hit the east end and started scouting, found the paddies he was fishing the day before but they where empty. Started trekking towards Clemente, clean 75 deg water and tons of empty paddies but seeing boils in the distance and sinking out as we would pull out. We where hearing chatter about the 277 going off and a few other number but we wanted to find our own. As we where trekking further from Cat we hear a call on the radio of limits within our vicinity. We start seeing a lot of activity. Troll past a few other paddies for nada, as we keep moving from paddy to paddy we found one holding. We stay a few hundred yards off of it and drop some bait and start chumming. The Pursuit and a couple of other boats where sitting on top of it but getting no action. We decided to give it a long soak as all the other boats started to leave. As soon as the other boats started to fade away all hell broke loose. It was nonstop pulling for a good two hours, Neil kept chumming and we kept reeling. The boat has a big back deck and we had a ton of room to fight our fish, many times we where all hooked up together........bad ass to see bent rods all the way around. About an hour and a half of getting our asses kicked a couple of boats started to show and an idiot in a sportfisher (name:________) decided to run right on top of our lines and sit on the paddy. After that it went to a slow pick, and we pulled in our last of our 33 Yellowfin tuna on our last bait, then the bite shut down. The best local fishing I have ever got into, tuna from 15-35#'s, we manage to stuff the fish hold and come home with a ton of tuna. Neil worked hard chumming, keeping the fish fresh and iced, cleaning the boat and keeping us on top of the fish. By far the best charter service I have been on.
