Always looking for an edge. Some photos of a Black JYG Stryke 340g with the the existing chevron’s & the glow dots I made and installed. And a Norman Streaker 320g Sardine (Katy Perry)… with glow paint on one side.
I think I like the adhesive dots better.
Opinions welcome or other ideas from the depths.

And easier to I stall … you have to let the glow paint dry and it wants to stick to the two sided tape form.
I may cut some chevron’s for the other side of the black jig.
Then hit both sides of the jig with a clear lacquer ..
That should keep them from coming off at 300 feet ++.
Don’t care if those toothy bluefin 🐟 chew on them or not.
By then I’ll have an Owner 11/0 monster hook in their jaw.

So is it paint or stickers/tape? I've been thinking of mixing the power stuff with epoxy and paint it on the jig...

The Katy Perry is that glow paint…
It works, but hard to apply…
The black jig has circles cut out of a roll of 1/2” roll glow tape with an adheasive back.
I have two small hollow punches …
A razor blade to remove the backing and a pair of tweezers to install… I’m going to mist the jig with clear lacker.
Think I’ll purchase some 1” tape and cut chevrons.

The Stryke works as is, but if you want to add more flair, go for it

    Your a dirtbag ! 👍
What species of fish ? How deep was it ?
Yeah a friend of mine has a buddy that dropped one of the black jigs as is and caught the largest bluefin taken on the boat…I need to do a trip and catch some freezer fish filets … My wife won’t eat anymore bluefin 🐟… so I’ve been smoking it …
It’s not half bad… actually it’s darn good.

There’s a season the Snowy grouper is their ?
I’ve watched the TV shows of them being caught… down deep some have more white spots.
If I remember they are very tasty… are they a prized catch ?
If I remember most grouper lay millions of eggs …
Their must be a size length or weight on them so they can reach a spawning size … I’ve caught several large gulf/leopard grouper in Mexican waters, but when they approach 100#’s they aren’t that good of table fare, but smoke up great.

Grouper, all of them, tend to congregate on structure of some sort. It can be a reef, a rock, a ledge, or a wreck. This was holding tight to large structure in very deep water.

There's different open seasons in the Atlantic and Gulf regions of FL. Right now they are closed in the Atlantic, but open in the Gulf. Definitely a prized catch. These, and their close relative Yellow Edge Grouper, are probably my favorite table fare when it comes to grouper. Scamp Grouper are another dynamite offering. On either side there are strict bag limits with them.

Generally, as snowies mature, the white dots on their side give way to more of an all greyish brown coloring. This is a pretty full grown one and they don't get too much bigger than this although there's some lunkers out there

    Pro tip:
If you are going to use the phosphorescent jig paint it is horrible to work with, get an even coat and have clean masking lines when done.

Better to make a little box out of wax paper, pour some in
    (thick is a good thing)
    and let it dry.

It takes a few days to dry, the off gas is nasty so leave it in the garage or such.

When it cures up you have an even thickness material you can cut
(or punch out dots) and glue to the jig.

An overcoat of some sort is a good idea also.

It gets brittle after a few weeks also.

I just use glow tape and a regular hole punch for paper. This tape glows brightly and lasts a long time. It sticks well and I’ve only lost dots when fish have chewed them off.

I’ve been doctoring my flat falls with glow dots with the adhesive back… available from Amazon… I have the 1/4” & 1” widths… I have several hollow/center less punches… these black flat falls only have small glow chevrons on one side…
In total darkness they glow big time.

The Amazon photo posted of the glow adhesive tape is what I’m using and then mist clear lacquer over the tape…
Barely mist … two coats …
“Do Not spray on too heavy”
You’ll effect the original jig paint

Punching the glow dots and adhering was easy…
    Cutting chevrons took more time…
I first used an old clear hook envelope … cut a chevron pattern.
Then imposed the clear pattern over the 1” tape. Cut it with a sharpe pair of scissors… once installed I put 2 coats of clear spray paint over the dots/chevrons… they are secure now. The Bluefin teeth will chew the jigs up a bit, but so … I say let them chew on them 11/0 Owner Monster hooks… you first have to get them to eat a jig.

I really like your shrink tape on your assist hooks. What diameter is it, where did you source it? Any links appreciated.

    I had hollow punches… the two sizes I used were 7/16” & 5/16”.
    Harbor Freight
    Hollow punches 3/32”-1/2” 9pc set $9
or use the grommet steel punch
Or make your own steel punch .. grind a sharp angle on one end of a hollow steel tube.
    Lowe’s Krylon clear lacquer $4.50
barely mist … barely mist 2nd coat.
Easy does it … not to effect original paint.
    Cut strip/chevrons no punching

    Reference glow dots
I found some 1/4”x1/2” glow adhesive small rectangular stickers
    20 per pack … how much … don’t know.
at Diaso’s (Japanese store) here in Long Beach
By the traffic Circle … you’ll need to ask about glow stuff
or you’ll never find them … they had 20 packs …
    Apply then mist with lacquer
Not sure how good they glow though.
