    Thanks for the post.

I would have liked to have witness the anchor tangle. LOL What a mess.

One thing about fishing, you don't always catch fish, and another thing, the attitudes of the crew can make a non catching day either good, or really crappy. SOunds like you had a crew that made a semi slow day, even slower.

    Better luck next time.

WHat kind of commercial fishing did you do?

well when you have 25 baits in the water on 25 hooks all looking about the same the fish just didn't choose mine,it happens oh well no big deal. i tried it all , casting the latest yellow jigs off the bow , casting my bait out past the pack , etc . some times you just don't get um. ( Well I did most of the fisheries that were out there except urchin diving (don't like jumping in a cold ocean at 7:00 am) lets see, fished lobster, rock crab, spyder crab (caught more than anyone in the state of ca for 3 years in a roe) did long line for black cod and thorney head at 2000' , hook and line and trap for the live fish market ( lots of sheephead) hook and line for short fin mako , harpooned swordfish, deep water traplines for spot prawns, and a few others. thanks for asking...........Also owned a boat yard in Marina del rey for 20 years and was a power boat and a sailing instructor for many years

you went on a boat with 25 people and couldn't hook anything? and an overnight which is also limited and didn't get anything? it might be you. Fishing is not just luck. and its definitely not just 25 baits sitting all the same in the water.

there is a reason why the same people get hooked up over and over. I see people getting bit and they don't even know they are on. and tons of snap offs from people setting hook after the fish already swallowed it to the asshole. people with so much slack they get bit and don't even know until the bait is already off.

I went on the enterprise with 80+ people and got 6 yellows all 25-30lbs. and yes there were MASS tangles. its all about adapting to situation.

keep going and fishing and you will get some. I've been on plenty of trips where its REALLY slow for the whole boat. 1.5 days just driving for nothing except micro yellows.

Its fishing. it happens. keep going and you will eventually get better and catch something.

you know way back when i took a buddy of mine jeff out on the seaway for a little fun fishing , we got into a wfo bite on bonito and yellows , we both had identical rods reel line and hooks both were fishing choves and i caught 14 fish and he didn't even get bit! so i said it must be your pole here take mine , so i baited up my pole and gave it to him and he handed me his , well of corse i instantly get bit on his pole ! i we laughing so hard i could hardly reel it in ! i caught over 20 fish that day and he did not catch one! i even handed him my pole to reel in a fish and he lost it. some times it just is not you day to catch a fish! lol

Fishin farnsworth is different than just about anywhere.. Your fishin shallow pinnacles that force you to actually stop your fish..fresh forty pound perfect knots and the ability to stop your fish are crucial for success there... The day you went had 25 people 29 bigger yellows and over a hundred fish lost which while it sounds outrageous is not that crazy for novice fisherman at that spot..
the Sunday before we had 33 people including deadheads and 65 yellows and more than half the fish were caught by 7 guys (I won't say which 7 guys but I think it's not hard to figure out)
I wasn't there Wednesday but As far as the anchor incident I was told it was something that many of us haven't seen before with a guy backing down into a group of anchored boats and pulling one boat off the anchor obliviously..
I agree that the crew should not be yelling anything at other boats but sometimes when you see something that is as clueless as it gets people forget themselves..
By the way conditions changed on the bank and we took off and found some on the west end Thursday..
