Left Ko'Olina around 6am and ran the ledge. One of the guys on my boat was on his first fishing trip. He was telling us about how he brought 2 bananas; both me and Mike looked at each other and started laughing. We told him about the superstition about bananas on fishing boats. I think he felt a little embarrassed. No more than 5 minutes after that we had a 20lb Ono on the deck.

Pulled in the lines and throttled down out towards BO and the 1000. About 3 mile north of BO one corner takes off. The new guy was driving and when he hears the reel, he puts the motors in neutral. I yell at him to put it back in gear and lucky for us he was quick about it. As soon as he pops it back in gear, the second corner goes off. We got both of them. 10:00 and we got 300lbs of fish in the boat. So we turned towards home and started washing down the deck.
So much for bananas being bad luck.

It's always a good idea to bring bananas aboard so that when you have a strike, you can eat them to give you energy! It's only bad luck if you believe in luck.

nice fish! banana thing is 'bad luck' if you are the type that believes in four leaf clovers and rabbit feet :), otherwise, don't worry about it...got a 400 # marlin w/banana beer on the boat

    tight lines,

Thanks man, both heads are old. I was given both of them from a friend when he quit fishing. The black one is a "Dick's" and the other doesn't have a name on it, but I have three heads from the same design and they all have produced well. Both these have the 8" skirts on them.

I got it at POP. It's the 6 footer. It's held up pretty good. It held about 300lbs of fish and almost 400lbs of ice. I did have to patch it a couple of weeks ago because there was a small hole inside from a hook. That what I get for putting a fish in the bag with a hook in it's mouth. Here's the one it is.
