Dana/Lagauna....beautiful day.....only in So Cal. 1-19-09 pics, but no fish

The fishing was SLOWWWW. No current and no wind. Water temps 59-60.2
Clear green water. vis had to be 30-40 feet.

Ambient temps were in the mid to high 70's sunny skies with some beautiful clouds....

I fished from Capo beach, where the conditions looked right, bait and birds every where...not huge boils, but had some good marks on the finder.....

but no love, so then headed North to Laguna.

Saw No Worries out enjoying the day as well.

There were quite a few boats out, but it was pretty quite on the "channel 72 catching/fishing reports".

This trawler looked very peaceful off of Laguna

The Santa Anna's always bring some beautiful conditions, but they also show how much crap we are breathing into our lungs...The golden brown along the water is the smog that gets blown off shore...look close and you can see Catalina hiding behind the lovely, but ugly golden haze.

Here are a few more pics showing what makes living here so great. To all the east coasters and land locked fishing friends...neaner Neaner Neaner. [IMG] Remember its January 19th...

Even with the smog, you still got to love it....

I wish I could have stayed until sunset, as I'm sure the red-skies would have been beautiful...but i had trailer light issues, so had to call it by 4 pm.

    Thanks for reading.

Great post... Thanx. It's why I stayed in San Diego when I retired from the military. No other place like this.

I could not agree more. There is not a day that goes by that I don't giggle like a little girl about how blessed we are to have such an amazing tp live. No BS in the four years I have been here not a day has gone by where I don't say to myself something like "Are you F'n kidding me? Another great day?". I think you have to have been to other places to know how special this place is.
Great Pics! I can't think of a nicer place not to catch fish. I went to SD Sun got skunked but still had a good fishing trip.
