A skipper I fish with swears by the theory that a cruising school of fish will get fired up if you can hook one and it yakks up what it's been eating. In particular cruising packs of WSB that don't seem to want to eat anything you throw at them. Anybody prescribe to this therory for WSB or any other fish?
I guess the next question is next time cleaning fish squeeze out the stomachs and save it for the next trip? A bridge too far?
Maybe I need to go fishing and not post dumb shit questions on here?

Seriously when site fishing the schools of sea bass you see a group and throw everything at them and they just swim right by. Dude swears that if you hook one and it yakks all the others go on the chew

I know if you hooked a fish and it threw up an octopus that’s prime bait there. However if store bought dead octopus sucked as bait.

This isn't some wing nut theory from one of my mentally unstable friends. This guy's on the water about 300 days a year at the Channel Islands fishing. Maybe just a seabass thing just wondering if anyone has heard of it before

Heard it....no. Seen it first hand ....yes. As a former spearo I’ve seen more than once after drilling a fish it would do anything to get loose, including giving up the cookies. Anytime this happened in a school, it was followed by a feeding frenzy. The other fish bolt at first, and then return for the scraps. Weird yes, but totally true. You aren’t crazy nor are you being mislead

I don't know about that, but the Yellows in La Jolla (years ago) would always bite more rapidly when my buddy, great fisherman, but always sea sick... when he barfed, the YT went wide open!!
