We left the ramp at 6 under the gate by 6:30 man it was nasty getting out under that beast. We managed and followed other boats out hugging the right side making it for a smoother ride out. We decided to hit the channel buoys early since it was the furthest.

Once we got there saw about 10 boats trolling and maybe 30 behind me full speed. Got lines in the water at 7 within 10 had a 22" salmon on the deck. Not a fish to be proud of but it was my friends first salmon so she was a keeper. Put lines in again and 30 min later picked up a 15lb with a lot of fight in her.

Kept on the troll and picked up another dink salmon about 12" it was a baby! She was released safely to be caught another day. Another 30 min later picked up another 10lb salmon but was lost at the net to an inexperience fisherman. Last time I let a newbie net my fiSh Shan.Kept on the troll and picked up a 12lb striper which was shocking never have seen one caught while trolling for salmon. We worked to the NE of the lay bouy. But stayed on the outside of the fleet the whole time. Found a good amount about and worked that area saw a lot of nets fly from private boaters and party boats. A lot of bait in the water I mean a lot. All fish caught between 40-60' of water.

Last thing I have to say is a lot of rude boaters out there. One guy trolled 15' on my stern. How we didn't get tangled is a miracle to me. Saw another big boat cut off a party boat going full speed. The party boat had to honk its horn and the guy still didint care. A lot of rude people on the radio not helping other fisherman just talking smack. Over all good day for my first time out of the gate and was able to find the fish!!!

All fish caught on watermelon apex there is a lot of boats out maybe 100+ many went home with limits and many skunks. But in my Opinion there is a lot of fish to be had out there.

Boat pressure was intense and there were plenty of total assholes blasting through the fleet at 20kt. Some times I really dislike other boaters. It's all these dumb fucks who watch Wicked Tuna / Deadliest catch etc... Spent $7k on some craigslist bayliner or tin can and think they are fishermen. I especially dislike the "Blast through the feeding birds" move. Almost every other boat had at least 2 people sporting brand new orange Grundens..... Looked like a CalTrans sportfish event.

Haha great response but totally true! I think I saw you out there did you have around 4 guys on deck? I have never seen such disregarded to safety. I know people want to catch fish but no need to be an asshole full speed while people are trolling. Anyways how did you do out there I heard a lot of people got limits

LMAO, that's why I hit the green can and keep pushing! Some of those people shouldn't be on the water nonetheless under the helm!!!

We split the clusterfuck, went uphill to dux trolled around the lumps then down to muir and back. Too much weeds.... Went back out to the edge of the bar around 4:45pm and 60% of the traffic was gone. Hooked a 20# salmon and one 15# striper who did not want to come aboard. Called it at 6pm... But we drug our gear across the top of the bar on our way in.. Hoping for a Halibut :D
    to call it a trifecta

    Bait was great all day.....

i HATE fishing in the fleet. Can be absolutely brutal. Mooching off bodega was a cluster on saturday. Glad the salmon are going off of the GG so the peanut gallery stays the heck away from bodega lol.
