That is awesome! The fact that you designed this yourself and are able to make it happen is very impressive. High five.

    Hey Guys,

Been a busy few weeks. Had a few boats come into the yard that required our attention. Had to get our work space organized and catch up on some business priorities. So I apologize for the delay.

So here are some photos of our progress thus far.

[IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

So there you have it! Inside is faired and ready for gel coat + webbing. Outside is laminted and ready for fairing compound/primer. Were hoping to get the rest of it finished up by the end of this week and have the windows cut. I will keep this updated more often this week. So stay tuned.

    Update!

Our first fairing/primer coat went on today. Getting ready to sand it tomorrow, another coat and then one last pass with the blocks. Cutting windows out by Friday this week and then gel coat.

It's interesting...I looked through most of the photos I have posted on this thread and most do not really show true scale. From a personal point of view the boat has definitely opened up quite a bit. Its hard to tell the actual size from the pictures I have posted thus far. I will try and get a more transom to bow profile shot tomorrow...that might help. Granted it is a 17ft skiff, there is quite a bit of room back there now.

Nick would you mind giving us the backstory on this boat? are you doing this for Tahiti? are you doing this for a customer? does this boat belong to you? backstory would be cool.

That's the most well planned and executed pilot house I think I've seen on here.

Really looks factory. You've got some serious skills.

    Hey Guys!

I apologize for not being more enthusiastic with the updates. Unfortunately there was a huge change in plans....before I go into detail here are some photos of where we left off.

Our customer picked her up on Friday last week and our job here is done. Its unfortunate and I am a bit torn on the decision, but sometimes these things happen and it is the way it is. We would have loved to finish her off, but we had to decide what was best for both parties involved (business & customer). Our customer decided that it would best for him to source out the remainder of the work (gel coat, windows, and rigging) based off the budget and time he had remaining while also saving us time in the end to move forward with our next project. It would have been awesome to finish it in our yard and watch the entire build come to life, but again...these kinds of things do happen. Anyways...we had a blast building her up and getting her to where she is now. We learned a lot through the process, meet a bunch of great people and managed to make some new friends. Overall it was a super fun project and I am really looking forward to this next one.....which we have already started. I plan on starting a thread here soon. It's a surprise...many will say it can't be done, but....we shall see about that :)

We got this done today...and hoping to have the whole thing glassed by the end of the week. Ill start a new thread so I don't hi jack my own.

Thanks for all the great feedback, suggestions and advice. I greatly appreciate everyone's enthusiasm and for all the positive comments. Hope everyone has a great week and Ill be starting a new thread with the project above.

Thank you! We had a lot of measurements and a pretty well thought out plan to tackle this project. If you can get all your number dialed in prior to putting any hands on it
Thank you man! It was a blast putting it together. On to the next one!
