So with 45 days .... and counting ..... I will leave on the first trip down to the lower zone. I have had all my reels serviced during the off season and they all look like there in tip top shape. Doing my inventory on my tackle and just ordered some top shots from Basil. They will arrive shortly. Next is to take a look at my tackle box and keep a list of what I need. I know bait rigs and hooks for sure.... My last trip was the June Heat trip on the Rooster and the sharks seemed to like my bait rigs and hooks...so I need to reload on my 5/0 Owner hooks and get some bait rigs from Squidco. I know the Red Rooster will leave a day after we depart on a 14 day.... so will see Andy and the crew down in the lower zone. I fish both boats... so in Jan. I will be on the Rooster with Andy and the crew. I am having Salty Dawg build me a couple of rods... always need new toys.... LOL .... and now I will have to check out some new reels....
ITS ALMOST TIME FOR COW SEASON..... have you booked your trips yet? Here is a picture of last years gang.

Four named hurricanes in the North Pacific right now, the first time this has ever happened.
I wonder if this shit will still be happening in October?
Could be a very interesting season.

Do you happen to recall how the ultra long trips did in 2009-2010? That was the last significant El Nino on record. I'm on the AA Ken's Custom Reel's 14-day trip in February and I'm starting to gear up. Don

Wow.... That's a guts move with those stomps that can pop up at anytime. I think that's there private charter. Its a guy that buys the boat and invites his friends. I wish Tommy and the crew best of luck.

Soda Pop.... I just read the Oct 1 Polaris supreme report and it sounds like the sharks are as bad as June. Just and FYI.

Richard that's just what I wanted to hear..... LOL I just pray it changes for us. Heck if its still bad with the sharks I will be a expert in shark/tuna fishing... LOL I just hope things get better for the crew and passengers on Tommy's boat. He is a great guy.... and Drew is a great Captain.
