Last year we were on the "board" with wsb in Jan!!! (West Cove). This year was a different story....slept at the wrong end of the island one night, then they didn't bite at the other end the next night!! WSB Tourny we went "all in" for halibut...5 lbs short of $2500:mad: (oh well, always next year)!

We had scored some local WSB last year at two locations and were hoping it would happen again...we promised togo after them as soon as the bite started....so when we heard of the Manhattan hard bottom bite, we put both boats in the water (mine and Matts). We went out last Wed night to make squid and fish for "ghosts"....wind, swell, no floating squid and no wsb. I spent the night while Matt went in togo to work thurs...I woke up thurs am with no squid, no marks and was "over it"....went looking for bass for an hour and then headed to the slip...went to work and fished bass thur night and did well on the bigger models, fun but back to the slip to sleep and work all day friday....

Matt n David took off for "Deep Hole" friday bout 3pm....I got there at dark and he had already jigged some squid and saw marks.....actually, half way up there I called and asked "please tell me you're on the board ?"...yep, David w a 50 lb'er!!!! sweet, heck yeah, on the board and looking for more!!!:D Matt gave me a few live squirters to get started and I set up bout 70 feet from him...squid marks everywhere and "worms" too!!! (the right kind)! I made squid, all I wanted and went to bed at 12...alarm 445am and I was Not tired...probably cause I "knew" they were there and had a good shot at em!!!

6:10am or so and my dropper loop goes off and I fight and gaff (first time doing this solo) and this 30 lb'er is in the boat and I'm done!!!! 1 fish limit!!!:D;):urno1::) ..........hooked 3 more and let em go!!! headed home 9am or so....

We R On The Board!!!! Best of times out there with your friends and well.....you all know the feeling!!!!!!!:)
