The fishing in the kelp off of N. VTA Co. and So SB Co. has been absolutely pathetic the past month. Wind, rain., water in the low 50's, but finally the fish are biting again. Paddled out yesterday after work. 5 Calico, 1 Copper Rockfish. 4 of the 5 bass were keepers, but I threw them back. Also a huge school of mackerel cruised through toward sun down. Small brown swim baits were the only thing they wanted. All good signs for an area that can be very scratchy fishing.

Thanks for the report, you should really put some fishing tape on the thumb and get rid of the towel. C’mon man, your a fisherman, right!
