Very cool...I'm gona give it 2 more weeks then ill put in a few days on the grounds. The more intel you have and more you are prepared the better your odds are going to be. Just don't cut your line if you happen to get a double going many times two even three tuna in if everyone works together. You never know the line you cut could be the one that is hooked the best.

How will you know how big they are until you get spooled or have been on them an hour? Would suck to cut one off and then lose the other. Just keep fighting both. As long as you have one of them stopped you can usually slowly chase one while dragging the other behind you. They will follow. If not stop. The marlin guys do it all the time.

Worry about finding em, getting em to stay up long enough to get a bait in front of em, and getting them to bite before you worry about having to cut one loose.

Good luck out there, hope you slay em! 24hrs should give you guy's a good shot at em.

Don't cut the line! We got a 110 and a 130 on a double popper hook up on Thursday. Just have to watch your angles and hope for the best.

Just be ready! Don't be like me and my partner and have fish crashing and start running around the boat like chickens with our heads cut off. Good luck, it's hard not to get excited when they are crashing around you!

Don't cut the line - fight hard - fight to win!

Have a friend that had a Triple Hook Up on poppers - they landed All 3. They weighed 112 lbs each certified weight.

With multiple hook-ups, keep one tuna at moderate depth as you work hard on getting the other to the boat. You don't want two or more big tuna near the boat (especially smaller boats) at the same time as they can easily wrap the lines as they circle. Keep the deep fish under control by putting the boat in forward slow if the fish start getting ahead of the boat. They usually settle down and will follow pretty easily. Never cut a line. Just learn how to manage the situation.

Good luck and I second first worry about hookin'em then worry about getting them in the boat. Dont cut any lines. Looking forward to your report when you return.

Back from prom..... There were maybe a handful of other boats out there w/ us
Got great mix of macs n dines @ 5am and headed out to marks 20+ miles 65.3 degree greylite water & the clouds stayed all day w no wind til afternoon got on many birds of the right kind but polluted w/ porpoise, still soaked baits to see if any of the marks were Dolphin safe but for not.
Headed south to the 43 for the same signs (heard some chatter in mex) scratched a couple sounded like. 66.6 degree water pretty clean. But about 20miles west then 30 south equals 600 sq miles last time I checked.

But whale breach & an actual whale FART (seriously) we both looked at each other & said " wasn't me!" Smelled like the porta potty after not being serviced for weeks, it was that close. Spectacular is an understatement to that experience.
But all in all just payin our dues til the slugs come up to play again, just gotta keep sayin,
    "Beats goin to work"
Definitely appreciate more now when others post even empty kill bags cuz it keeps us all lickin our chops
    Peace
