While switching from high to low I lost this ring while fishing, was not able to locate it. So now the button is exposed and easily falls out. Obviously have to replace but curious if this is a known issue or what went wrong so I can make sure this doesn't happen again in the future. Also anyone carry this locally? Shipping is double the cost of the part

    Labeled as 110C on schematic

Fisherman's Landing in SD, Ken's in Oceanside, and Sav-On tackle should have them, depending on where you live.

Must be a common issue, see a couple threads and Penn is currently out of stock

Mine to, along with another guy on the same trip, used just a touch of blue Loctite. When it comes time to service I might wish I had used silicone hahahahah

This ring does fall off occasionally. The problem is that when it is installed, you need to use the wrench (that comes with the reel) to hold the base and then cinch the ring tightly. Shifting gears twists the ring and if it isn't secure will cause it to come off. I like the Penn 2-speed shift mechanism, but this is an issue...

We expect to be back in stock within a few weeks. The silver 110C from the 12VSX will fit as a temporary replacement.
