decided to work all night so that I could have some time to fish with my pops today.

Bait: scoop of medium size squid from nachos

    Water 65-66 degrees

Fished the East End (Toyon Bay area and slightly west)

1/0 hook, 20-30 lb line, 1/4 egg sinker

    Depth: 30-100 feet

Stay away from the boat traffic and find the fish. We had a steady bite of calicos, sheep heads, white fish and yellowtail all day long. They definitely wanted the fin bait over the live squid. I did manage one yellow on the iron right before we took off for Home.

My highlight of the day was my triggerfish. I’ve always wanted one!

It was great fishing next to you guys today Nick.
Thanks again for the photos of us landing the yellowtail. The bite was non-stop so of course we waved you guys in to anchor with us.
What a great day on the water.
I finished with my 10 fish limit

Actually got home in an hour. Bunny but the hulk rode the swell perfectly. 22-26 all the way home. Those calicos were dinner last night

Awesome. I was at the mussel farm from 8am -12. Bumpy and beam swell all the way home. Held about 18 mph in the whaler. Took about 35 min to get to Cabrillo ramps from the farm. I’ve never had calico. Going to try it next time. Supposedly they are extremely slow to grow.
