I fished with Jaime on the Jessica yesterday 3/5. The fishing was insane . We fished snappers off the beach in the morning and got 4 nice fish. Then we headed to the Golef Gate for bait and a shot at Marlin. All the big $500,000 plus boats were out there and no one had bait. After not giving up on bait , we finally found it and went to the yellowtail honey hole and quickly pulled in a decent yellow . Then we went back for more snappers and it was snapper insanity. The water was red beneath the boat. Lots of triple hook ups and trying to figure out who would gaff. We caught multiple jacks, a nice rooster, Sierra, manta Rey. It was non stop. Even Jaime was over the top excited. We ended up with a boatload.

Jaime for president. We had other boats around not catching anything during our triple hookup madness

Other charter boats looked like they are flying 1-2 marlin flags lately. Not many dorado and I’ve seen an occasional wahoo flag. There was a Pisces boat flying a bunch of tuna flags yesterday but no one else as far as I could tell

Was the Pisces boat a cabin cruiser or panga? Also going out with Omar on the Poseidon (who is part of Pisces' fleet).

Jaime is the only man I’ve met that likes fishing more than me!

My humble opinion....what separates the good captains from the exceptional captains is their ability to catch bait, and find fish when no one else can.

    Congratulations!

Right leader and hook type . Knowing the spots.

Never reveal the spots . That’s how they make a liviving. That’s the captains business

    Nice Haul!
Jaime is the man! He definitely loves to catch fish.
He is giddy like a kid in a candy store when he gets into the fish.
Wish I was getting down there with him this year.

Hey Charlie - where you able to get bait at the harbor? If so how many baits? I am curious as this will be my first time out with Jaime, any other tips?

Plan on spending $30 on bait in the marina. They always have bait, and then you’ll probably make bait as well

Hola Charlie, glad to see you had a great day, and escaped yet another MN "snownami,", jaja!
    Jaime's the absolute best.

But I gotta be "that guy."
It looks like you two exceeded your limit on pargo.
Assuming there were only two of you: "In ocean waters and estuaries the limit is a total of ten fish per person per day, with no more than 5 catches of a single specie."
Correct me if I'm wrong, correct you if I'm right.
    Saludos, Dave

"Lots of triple hook ups and trying to figure out who would gaff. " That also explains why there was no one was there to get the gaff......

I’ve got a good family friend of Jaime’s down here and I take him fishing with us every time. His name is Jorge and he’s an awesome concierge for Cabo. He knows everybody in Cabo and he’s a pretty damn good mate on the boat. If anybody ever needs a helping hand in any type of business away from the boat , I could give you his number
