FAD T was dragged into Hawaii Kai today by a fishing boat/good samaratin who found it loose outside of Makapuu. My buddy Bret Fee was at the Hui Nalu paddling halau and went over to help them drag the buoy up into the parking lot. Hopefully, DNLR will come pick it up and get it re-deployed in the near future. Anyway, don't bother looking for T - which has been several miles from the location listed on my GPS. Maybe DNLR will put it back on the correct GPS location? Asked Bret to post this info...but he doesn't have a good internet ready camera.

I was in a hurry and ran off with out getting Boat name Crew ect. All I did was help pull T 25' out of the water. I've tow large thingings behind my boat and it's not all ways fun. These Guys tow the worlds largest Bird behind there boat for 9 + miles and i don't think they got lucky on the way back with it. But may the fishing god be on there side if and when T bouy is put back that they shall hook up with each pass for there great help Good luck to you boys.
    Aloha, Brett

I was on land yesterday and saw this yellow boat coming back from Makapuu with a huge wake way behind it and thought that he must be running a HUGE bird teaser. Now this all makes sense that he was towing T bouy!

Kudos and many future fish to him for sure!

Stopped by the boat ramp this afternoon and got a picture with it for kicks. Hmmm... Strange though because I didn't notice it had the light on top anymore as shown i the first picture from last night. I hope the light was taken by the proper people and not stolen.

Well...the state will probably pay a few grand to put a new light on it...and take 3-6 months to put it back. Our tax dollars at work!

I checked in with somebody I know at DLNR and they weren't aware of it but they followed up on it and found out that the FAD program people were on top of things already and had stripped the hardware off of it. So the crooks didn't get that stuff. They will have the buoy removed by around 10 AM tomorrow. It will be redeployed but they aren't sure how quickly they can do it yet.

    Paul,

Thanks for using your resources to get us all on BD the latest info. At least the DLNR can't sight lack of functional bouy lights as the reason the bouy redeployment is being delayed. Lol!
