This one is rod number 7 in a set that I've been building over about 10 years. The customer orders a couple every 3 to 4 years to add to his arsenal. I guess, because he only ordered one this time the set is likely full now. 'Bout as old school as they come. Calstar 655H E-glass, AFTCO seat, gimbal and HD roller guides.

Well, I've had this spool of thread for about 35 years and it's still half full, so I doubt I'll run out before I die. I seldom use it for more than trim bands, unless the customer wants it.

I second that, NICE!! Takes me back of few years, but lucky you still have that old Holland!
I've run out of some colors my old customers want matched, just no Gudebrod, but can come close, so many good thread makers now.

For trolling rods they're about all I use. Makes the rod much easier to remove from the rod holder with a big fish pulling on the line.

Just wait a minute....I remember a conversation about black and gold being "over done". Pretty sure it was with you Bill. You're forgiven....that's beautiful. And I stand by my answer, it's classic!!

OK old man, you failed to notice that this was an old thread and it was for the same guy that I made the 4 rod set for last spring. You saw those rods when you were here. I stand by my statement, but you gotta' build what the customer wants.
