    Awesome , I did that (launch on beach) that area about 25 to 30 years ago similar results, although back then we didn't have plastic lures and if conditions deteriorate in afternoon you will be wet when coming back in to beach.

    I used to live right up the street from that launch area. Got wet once on a retrieve. Also ran one of the boats off the pier, always great fishing.

    Nice couple of fish! Unfortunately the fish in your right hand is a canary rockfish, recognizable by the stripes on the face and white line, and is illegal to catch at any time. Not trying to bust your balls, but that picture is a great side by side i.d. picture. good thing you released it!
