On Let's Talk Hookup this morning I heard Ingrid Poole announce that she sold the Excel to new owners. I am happy to hear that Lumpy is now an owner-operator.

I met the new owner Big Al years ago and I've been on a couple of his charters with his sons. His trips were always very exciting and full of positive energy.

Apparently the new owners are offering a 10% discount to all anglers who book a trip through this year. What's really cool is they are giving the same discount to anglers who've already booked their trip for the upcoming year. That is pretty sweet of them and kudos to Big Al and the new owners for doing that.

Justin at the helm now as part owner. That's good news, a real stand up guy, congratulations!

I'd say the 10% will help with the fuel surcharges thats for sure.

10% discount. Nicely done. That means more tip for the crew. More brew for me, now that's what I call Win / Win

I happened to just get off the phone with my tuna fishing buddy and we were discussing booking a trip on the Excel next year. I've heard good things about the crew and boat.

This is a sign of things to come.....first the Red Rooster reduced prices and now the Excel. Boats that continue to fail in making upgrades and/or price adjustments will be looking at fewer riders and less market share. Just basic economics at work.......Adam Smith would be proud.

To the people who moved over to the Intrepid from the Excel. What would you like to see done to the Excel to get you back on board?

I toured the Excel in April (DOTD) and she is in great condition. The staterooms are nice, bathrooms clean, the deck massive and the galley/kitchen is huge. She also has a 700 scoop bait capacity very large slammers.

The Excel is a low to the water, (wet boat) but I think she is grand!

My next 15-day trip is on the Excel. I am confident it will be a positive experience!

Fished a 16 day a couple years ago on the Excel.
    It's huge!
Justin's a great guy to fish with, and the crew is professional.
Which trip are you on Jeff?
Who knows, maybe after this winter's trips I'll be back again.

The EXCEL rocks. The crew is the best I've come across. Once you step aboard you immediately realize that you are on a boat of different caliber than many others.

Justin Fleck is a good friend and a great fisherman. I wish him the best of luck. The Gross family also ranks hi in my list.
