Excel Phoenix sponsored 10 day Sept trips

I'm looking for some information from people who have fished on the Excel September Phoenix sponsored 10 day trips in the past few years. I was just wondering how the trips went and how the group was since it's an open booking and not a charter group.

Did Phoenix provide some rods for the trips etc. How was the Wahoo fishing? Where did you fish etc.

I haven’t done that trip but I know that some years they spank the wahoo pretty good.

It usually fishes the Ridge and the Rocks. The last few years do a couple of day BFT up here either at the beginning or end of the trip.

The past couple of years there haven't been too many Wahoo taken. The rocks are infested with bronze whaler sharks. I got the only Wahoo taken on an artifical last year. The others came on the troll and a few on bait.

Usually the Phenix rep brings a bundle of rods. You can use one of you want... he just brings rods, you need to use your reel.

We had a 'that guy' for the books back in '19. I think he's banned from the boat! It's usually a good group.
