Started out the morning at the grain pile just outside the city limits of Calipatria. Absolutely full of life, but the only problem was that the sky was full of Mourning and White Wing dove, with the normal share of Euros in between. I only took no brainer shots at the birds just to make sure, but I am positive I passed up a lot of opportunity. Ended up with 6 birds and we were out of there by 8:30 ish to go scout some other areas. Things are looking very promising for the opener and I hope that the birds that are holding now will continue to hold for one more month. It seems to me that this years hatch was extremely successful, lots of young, new life in the sky.
