no, just .030 over 350's ... 355's
The goal was to build matching 350's with 300-350hp so I would have quality engines that will last, that are matched & that won't kill the 280 outdrives.
Grant told me that the drives were rated at 300hp max, so I was more concerned about building them for 3000rpms with good torque, which we achieved. I'll never reach the rpm's for peak HP numbers ... so they are perfect for what I'm looking for.
On top of that, I've worked with James Bostick as an engine builder for 15+ years, so trusting him to build these was a no brainer instead of buying remanufactured engines from a company that is more of a production line. I'm a little picky and seeing the step by step build from teardown to the valve jobs to balancing everything to assembly and finally seeing them run on the dyno. The peace of mind that comes from that for me was worth the wait.
