Headed off with my partner Bryan, hadn't hooped since 2nd week last November.
Went to the recommended spot, which was conveyed on opening night this season, last October.
Bait = barely dead sardines, all we needed.
Depth 30 feet.
Sometimes I get summoned by the KING Lobster, and it happened again today.
YEP, had the gut feeling they were on the move, not even completely dark yet.
Started pulling 10 nets at 7:15 PM and done at 8:07 PM, pulling # 14 legal on the 15th net pulled.
Very good quality on the legal Lobster!
Superb weather!
Outstanding bait!
Couldn't scratch a Halibut bite in 3 hours fishing!
Great company as usual!
Here's a few pictures, enjoy!

Nice piece of tail. And a great way to end the season. You make it look to easy.

    Well it was easy Jason.
I knew there was a small window due to the moon coming up early.
It was overhead before it was dark.
I knew I had fresh sardines in my back pocket.
We also ran into CRITTERS (commercial Lobster guy).
I knew by what they were unloading how the quality would be.
    buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuttt, it's never that simple.
Without giving you my spot . .
The nets were down at 4PM, and I had to guard my stack of 10 nets
until 7PM 1 minute before sundown.
I had to dodge sailboat after sailboat after sailboat.
Then came no less than 4 party boats, a whale watch boat, then the Seadoos came,
then the parasailer boat, kayaks, windsurfers, paddle boards, the lifeguards in and out,
the sheriff sniffing around, catch my drift? It was 3 hours of running the motor
and keeping boats from running into any 1 of my 10 nets.
Can you say dodgeball with boats?
It was anxiety at it's highest point!!!!!
And when it was 8:07 I was Comfortably Numb with success.
    I'd better stop right there!

Not as big as my partner originally though, turned out to be 7.4 pounds.

Very nice, was it a male?
Normally I'd not even entertain the thought of responding Steve, but you own the same model Parker that I do, one of the Parker Boats benefits.
If you don't want it to be a female then it wasn't, and if you do want it to be a male then it was.

Nice catch, and very brave to just hold it by the antennae when it's still alive. Those things break of very easily sometimes. 7.43# is a very solid honest weight on that bug. Most people would claim that's a 10#er. Great way to end the season, sir.

    3 things:
    1) You can call me John; 2) there's a fine line between brave and stupid; and 3) You're right Halibut suck. I've had the pleasure of hand feeding a tank full of 40 pound breeder Halibut before and they almost sucked down my arm each and every time I waved a dead Sardine at them under water.

    John.

I was wondering because all our big ones were male this year. Not a lobster hugger!
