The very reason I don't get sea sick and can out fish most of you is because my dad told me to man up and eat the heart on my first Albacore trip at 11 yrs old.

Traditions are what makes this country great. Thanks Dad for making me the man that You and Mom are proud of. RIP.

I use to jump off bridges and cliffs into lakes, drive way too fast on my motorcycle, and do other foolish stuff. I even ate a few hearts of my 1st caught fish. I lived, but as you get older and wiser, shit like that doesn't excite me anymore. But to each his own. But I won't bust someone's balls if they choose to pass on the Heart eating.

I did it last season out of curiosity Night bite, people hooked up left and right. I was taking a break and watching the deckie removing gills & guts guts and dropping them into the hold.

One freshie was still beating so I asked if he ever ate one and he handed it to me. Took a bite... Pretty good. Beefy flavor. Took another bite, swigged some beer, that was that. Wouldn't mind cooking some up yakitori style.
