After weeks of lousy weather, we headed out towards MM. With only one other boat there, we figured our chances were looking good. As we were making our turn for another pass by the buoy "snap" port outrigger goes (Gaji fish head). Blood on the deck! Worked the area for about an hour and decided to go hunting. Big mahalo to the braddah at the buoy, mutual respect not only goes a long way it makes fishing much better for all of us.

We decided to head towards another buoy and followed a current line, spotting small pieces of rubbish and the birds seemed to be at a union meeting or on strike. After a few hours of chasing the current, outrigger snaps again, hana pa'a! Nice Mahi-Mahi on a classic Joe Yee. With friendly bets in place on which lures would produce, Gaji takes the prize again!

We were blessed with an awesome day on the water, fishermen with etiquette and Mahi-Mahi in the fish box!

One Random Act of Kindness at a Time.

The water was nice early in the morning, but when the winds picked up from the South it did get snotty. Just a heads up for you guys headed out today, a friend of mine said the bird piles were going off 15 miles NE of "Rabbit Island". Holding some Shibi Ko.

That rubbish line looked promising, although we ended up providing some surf for the occasional bird drifting on the pieces of foam. My daughter ended up with the camera this time (hold the fish this way, now that way.... Ok, cut em and let's grind!). We were stoked to finally have fish in the boat.

Checked out the Fish Expo today and picked up some lures. Met up with Bomboy & the Tsutomu crews, thanks for the advice & we'll let you guys know when we hook up. They also had an Ulua team out there with some unreal gear (GTfightclub.com). These Waianae braddah's put together a killer video of Ulua strikes, check it out on YouTube! There's a reason why they call it GT Fight Club, these guys are full on scrapping the GT's.

Eh Pat, next time you hook up one of those monster Ahi's, I'll bring my daughter & Camera. Gotta be careful though, she might bite the fish.

Thanks again for the successful trip out on the water CJ.
Wife and kids LOVED the fresh Mahi dinners and your recipe was killer.
The time is coming where we're gonna load up the boat,
lures, gear and bait are all getting dialed in,
just gotta find our hot spot and go to town doing what we know.
Kind of humbug bringing so much ice every time,
BUT,
better to have it and not need it,
than to need it and not have it.
