Hi guys great day today fishing with my friend Todd. Got 2 nice wahoo trolling rapalas before 9 am.

Windy most of the day today so decided to move inshore for roosterfish. Caught a big ladyfish for bait and hooked up with about a 40 lb fish. It came unbuttoned after a short fight.

About 20 minutes later a monster rooster takes the bait. Fought it for about 10 minutes and the hook pulled. Oh well would have been nice but still stoked with the wahoo.

Heard of one marlin caught south of us and some dorado off Punta Perico. Wind and chop made it tough going at times.

Will try for a same day report tomorrow. Another day in paradise. IMG_2534.JPG

Just got home from the trip. We took a few non fishing friends out Friday the 26th. Decided to stay close to the beach and try for some of the big roosters that eluded us the day before.

We kept hooking huge ladyfish for bait but lost most of them. Man those things can shake a hook! Most baits we did catch got hit eventually by a big rooster. Thought we had a couple hooked good and handed them off the the newbies who ended up losing them. Check out the size of the ladyfish we used for bait. Oh well we suck on the roosters I guess lol. Next time...

We entered 2 boats Saturday the 27th in the El Cardinol fishing tournament. Shotgun start at 7 into heavy fog and pretty sloppy seas. Planned on running to the 88 but decided decided to head to Pescadero instead in the fog. Trolled for wahoo with rapalas for an hour or so until the fog lifted but no action.

Put out some rigged ballyhoo and lures and started trolling. Weather kept improving and we started sighting jumping marlin every now and then but that was it. Just a tease.

We came across a panga with 4 guys in it broken down about 15 miles out. They had no radio, no more beer and apparently no common sense. Hooked em up and towed them in so we lost a couple hours fishing.

Only 2 dorado weighed in, an 18 lb caught by amigo Chente and a 26 lb that won the dorado division. One cruiser fished over 40 miles out to get the only tuna weighed for that division. I think they got 6 or 7 total all 15-25 lb I believe. Most boats got nada slow day for some pretty good fisherman. This tournament is a big deal for local bragging right rights in this small close knit community.

All in all a great trip with great friends. Cant wait for next time!
