Hola amigos! long time I havent been around here, at this time of the year Im normally fishing in Buenavista-Los Barriles, and BD I only have it at home in La Paz, so no chance to come, the season has been amazing over here, we have fish almost 30 days in a row its hard to take some days off.
Well, probably some of you have read or heard, how good the season its been so far here in East Cape, tuna schools showed up pretty early, the striped marlin has been very consistent, with very good numbers for everyone. The Dorado, showed slow in volume, but very good quality dorados in the area, many over 50lb have been caught. Roosters finally decided to show up this past week and most of them over 30-40 lbs, thats such great news for us, as its one of the preferred species down here. Wahoo, unfortunately its been slow, we have been trying for them for a while with no luck, some has been caught but nothing to say they are here and go get em. Yesterday the first blue marlin of the season was caught, thats really good news as the East Cape Bisbee this year expects more than 100 teams with over $2 million usd in prizes. Bait is all over, thats no issue here, except for sardines, that we still have to go to Cerralvo island to get em if someone requires them, but there is no need right now, we can do everything with out them.
Water and weather temperatures have been very nice for this time of the year. Water is in the low 80s and weather about the same.
Here are some pictures from my charters, cant complain how fishing has treated me so far. Except for couple little things that happened to me hahaha, a little encounter with a humpback whale and treble hook decided to catch me after we landed a dodo! shit happens, but all good thank god!
