It's time for me to replace my batteries in my boat. Currently I have two Optima blue tops with 750CCA. They are still holding a charge but are 7-8 years old. Has anyone purchased Duracell AGM marine batteries from "Batteries + Bulbs"? Looking to stay away Optima's because of all the terrible reviews in this forum and elsewhere (due to manufacturing change) even though my experience has been positive with them over 16 years with them. My boat is a Trophy Pro 2352 with a 5.7L engine. Fish mostly saltwater in the sound & the ocean. Not a lot of electronics on board, typical Lowrance GPS/sonar but two Scotty downriggers that draw on the batteries quite a bit. Planning on getting dual purpose batteries again and would prefer to stay under $275 each.

i simply use interstate 27 SRM batteries, they are the flooded type I get 4/5 years from them as long as you keep water in them.. check them once a month and the cost is under 100.00 each....

I have three from Costco group 27 on my 2001 Larson which I think are interstate from 2013. I just keep my onboard charger connected to them. They are still going strong! Two are connected to 24v trolling motor. I think I’ve gotten my monies worth. Just wondering now how much longer I’ll get out of them.

I’ve got four Costco 27’s dated 2011... still going strong, but I’m going to replace them this season. Don’t want to push my luck.

Sounds like I got at least two more years:lux:!!
With this boat I will let them ride and see how much longer I get. As this boat doesn’t see saltwater or ocean. I’ve replaced two of the three on my skipjack with these. But don’t think I’ll let them go that long.
