Driving down to La Paz this July.

Planning on bringing back some frozen fish in coolers.

Can you get any dry ice in La Paz?

I'd hate to lose all that fish driving back up.:picknose:

How long do you intend to be on the road....?

I leave LaPaz with cooler bags [polarbearcooler.com] of frozen fish and its 30 hours before I get home and I have all frozen solid fish yet......

I bring a fish home across the desert from San Carlos to Phoenix...100+ weather with the cooler in the back of the pickup. I trim it up, vacuum seal it with that cheap $10 ziplock thing, and freeze it...then lay down ice, sprinkle some ice cream salt (the crack rock looking stuff), little more ice, fish, ice, salt, ice, etc...ultimately lay a wet towel or even plastic over the top. The reaction of that little bit of salt melting the ice actually drops the temp below freezing in the cooler. I've literally froze beers and water bottles by using this method! This also works great in a fish box with ice...without rock salt you can even just add a bit of saltwater to create a slurry to get your catch cold, fast.
