Went out to 150 area with my buddy Shibu on Lil Ahi , rigged up with mauraders and a and a few large marlin jigs all with steel leader. Got a triple hook up at 9:30 am. Dorado maurader, red feather, tiger maurader.

    Great fishing!

This wahoo thing is getting just plain silly. Imagine the spoiled fits people will have when they vanish from SoCal for another 10-15 years.

    Congrats boys!

I don't think global warming will reverse in 15 years, all models predict warming to increase over the next two centuries given current carbon release. This good fishing will continue... We might have to fish Alaska to catch them in the future though;)

I went out on Sunday with Magic Mike for a long Whoo free boat ride!
Trolled the outer rigs, all of them, 3/4 the way to the 14, then trolled the 14, back to the rigs up to the GB.
74-75.2 degree water all day, from pre-dawn till around 2:30. It was a nice boat ride, but no whoo strikes!
That will teach me not to fish on Sunday!

I'm 50/50 on that one, Jim. I think the main cause is the El Nino event we're experiencing, easily exceeding 1997-1998, although the climate change has probably bumped things a bit over 18 years ago. Wahoo frenzies from spring to fall would be so Alijos-esque. I'm ready for the rooster invasion along San Onofre beaches to start some time soon...:D

Yes I beleive it's just a great Elnino. We may see them sooner or stronger. But this is the best year in my 51 years. Going to Suck when that first pacific North west storm slams us!!!! But should be a great YT winter agsin. Only thing is not the tonnage of YT like last year. But no one really trying. With all the Exotics.

I just saw an article--believe it or not---that Mexican poison sea snakes have washed up on local beaches. On the other hand, makes total sense, if we can catch local wahoo and Dorado--maybe as the one guy said, Roosters are next.

I don't know about them we have been going 8-10 knots we have done best right at the back of the prop wash. So in my rig that's been 100 feet. Max. One was in the was at 70. It's been a time on the water thing. Just like the big blue fin in spring. It was hundreds of hours to get a cow.

Yeah, it's believed those Mexican snakes are coming here to take all the really good, high-paying jobs from the hard-working US of A sea snakes. Build a fence.
