Took my cousin and his friends out of mission bay this morning. Plan was head south to just west of ensenada. We found 3 kelps on the way and the 3rd one was completely loaded with dodo that they were almost jumping in the boat. We got our limit for the 5 of us and let just as many if not more go. Every bait in the water was slammed.
We were 35 miles south of mission bay.
    Go out and get them

And to add. All of the fish were caught on sardines. Small, medium, large didn't matter they all got hit

Every once in a while you'll get fishing like that... In my case, a long while. Dorado are so much fun to catch when they get stupid. Good eats too. Congrats!

Nice! But everyone knows you only get a couple of fish off of a kelp, at least according to the guy in another thread

    Well done sir.

IN my time, I've seen paper plate-sized kelps holding tonnage, and condo-sized paddies holding nothing.

More often than not, in my personal experience, if a paddy is holding it can and will go off and the boat will load up. Aggressive bastards they are!

    Good stuff.
