Offshore DORADO/BF 10.05.22

[Hophead]

Good day today on our first paddy at 20/26, 10 miles west of the islands. Limits of 10-15# dorado and one 30# bluefin. Bit 30#, had to slow troll at times, but easy pickings on some nice dorado.

We left the paddy in search of tuna, but found cooler water was surrounding us from the north, west and east. 67-68 degree water on the 302/border/5 miles off the island. 70 degree water seemed to be the ticket. Further south sounded like better tuna fishing. Good times Cody and Cole. My turn to pay you back for the call ins!!

Haha not sure but I was wondering the same thing. Also first time getting towed in and didn't realize it was gonna be at 20knts.

2. Great "meeting you" on the water @Hophead
3. Thanks for initial call and then return to paddy heads up after we left to go find greener pastures and found mostly lifeless dead water and scratched a couple more on the boat.
4. That area was definitely the best "paddy zone" - we started west of you then went 12 miles south and nothing was coming together... I know Cody was southeast with the same report/findings.
5. Looking forward to repaying the favor and calling you in sometime.

It’s gonna be a zoo out there this weekend, but I think the next few days at SCI might produce some incredible fish for small, private boaters who can make the run. The weather looks amazing right now. Wish I could drop what I’m doing and head that way!

No warning engine just shut down while underway and then wouldnt start afterwards. Seems like possible fuel delivery problem.

Has fuel been leaking onto transom, splashwell excessively while tilted up for towing? We’re you able to pump up fuel pressure with the bulb ? Smell gas?

1978 22’ Seaway. Long Beach built. There’s a seaway builder I believe on the east coast as well.
