Went fishing for dinners and a big halibut. Got the dinners but no big halibut. What I got instead was an ass kickin from a cave dweller BSB. Chased it for 25 minutes and it was calling all the shots in a big way. I managed to subdue it for a few pictures and it swam back home ready to be someone's next mystery fish that got away! Released some bass and took home a few eaters. Made our own bait in front of the Mission Jetties in about 1/2 hour, mixed sardine and mackerel. On the road just in time for rush hour. May not be a BFT but it was on the plus side of 100 lbs living in 60 feet of water off Crystal pier. Oh yea the area was jugged with sardine, anchovies and mackerel. Even the birds are full.

Jack Prodanovich, a San Diego spearfishing legend, used to say "they should have WORK printed right on their side", referring to BSB! Good job C&R it! I snagged one off Blacks beach one time, dragged us all over for over an hour, manged to get it within view, a hundred lb. + version before the line broke. I kept thinking it was a WSB or YT! Thanks for the pics + report! Big ol bucket mouth!

Great picture, looks to be about the same length as my ass kicker hooked on 25# Seaguar floro. Using a Peen 500 must have quite a workout.
