What is a good rod to pair the 300 with for sand/calico bass and even yellowtail? Im on a budget so I'm looking for a rod around the $100-$120?

Shimano Terama SE version, TMC76H. 15-30lbs
i use it with Okuma komodo 350, lexa 300 and SXJ
it handled, bass, bonitos, baracudda and yellowtails no problem last 2 seasons for me
you can find it for around $120
I like slower action of this rod better than the westcoast version
Hope it helps

What do you guys think of the Okuma Shadow Stalker 8' heavy 15-30lb test or 8' extra heavy 20-40lb test line rating?

I fish my 300 on a Turners Californian inshore 7'6" the past 2 years and had no problems with the 15 to 18 pound yellowtail. I picked up that rod at the fred hall show for like 80 bucks.

Sweet rod for the coin. I like the XH for popping or surface iron. For swimbaits the H might be better for those.

Shadowstalker is an awesome rod. Be VERY careful of high sticking. But that isn't unique to this rod, that's all of the graphite rods. I broke one boat flipping a small yellow, my fault.

I feel like the XH would be an overkill for the lexa 300. Im stuck in-between the XH or the H. I know you got to be really careful if or when you want to bounce over a fish.

I ended up picking up a Teramar TWC 80MH, seems like a nice fit with the 300

Yah I got the old Teramar with the cork, I can't wait to put it into use. I feel like it would do real well on the yellowtail and even the smaller grade tuna

Friend of mine uses the Teramar with his lexa 300. I'm going with a varmac 8'6" custom wrap, reel seat and fuji guides, just to pull on something different. It's rated 15-30# and it's very fast and has a bit of lift.

I was about to buy a a phenix M1 inshore 8'2

I expect to thro the 7xjr, poppers and big swim baits. If I tie into a 40# tuna. I would not worry.
